Leadership

The JohnsonsAndy Johnson has been Pastor of Acton Green Church since March 2001 - he is married to Andrea and they have two boys, Joseph & Daniel. Andy trained at the London School of Theology in the mid 1990's where he acquired a BA (Hons) Theology degree. From there he joined the staff team at the Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship in Acton where he worked until taking up his current role. He is passionate about the local church impacting its local community and longs to see AGC at the heart of all that is good within Acton Green. He owns up to a love of Reading Football Club where he is part of a group that plays drums during their home matches.

Andrea Johnson also obtained her theological degree at LST, which is where she and Andy met. She is currently a full-time mum but also enjoys playing and teaching piano. At the church she has the role of Head of Music & Worship and is the architect of Kids Praise. She completes her busy week by running Little Fishes on a Thursday morning.

Nicholson FamilyGeoff & Caroline Nicholson support Andy in leading the church and as a team they have responsibility for vision, oversight and pastoral care.

Caroline trained as a nurse and is now undertaking a PhD at City University in London.  She believes that God is present in the daily struggles of life. Her passion is to understand how the reality of this is worked out.  She believes that people matter to God and that the church can be relevant and Good News in todays world.

Geoff is convinced that "People matter more than things."  Struggling with the  implications and realities of this has been a theme in all aspects of Geoff's life; in family life, with two small(ish) children; at work, he runs a thriving retail business consultancy, and in the context of Acton Green Church, where he has been a member for five years.  Geoff's  experience that God loves him, and conviction the God loves all people equally, encourages him to persist in this endeavour - to make people matter more than things.

The leadership of AGC are externally accountable to a Board of Trustees comprising of other local church leaders/members plus former and current AGC members.
